Yes. It's Ladies night...

These are my style influences of the week, bit of a mixture, but when you change your outfit as often as Lola does- you sure do need some alternatives!
eh hem...Ladies and Gentlemen The fabulous, Neneh Cherry, Robyn, Marie Antoinette- i like her lavish historical style, not necessarily her attitude to poverty....! And the lovely Judy Garland in some serious stripes in a shot from the 1944 film "Meet Me in Saint Louis".

What a bunch of Bettys!!

Try any of these looks with a contemporary vintage twist- with striped blouses and Pussy Bow neck ties, or mixing black velvet with super shiny 80s costume jewellery or an oversize, dramatic fit 80s leather jacket with a pair of large clip-on earrings, or rough up the frills of the French Revo by mixing antique lace with denim or biker boots for an on trend "Outsiders" look this Autmn/Winter,

et Voila! Dressin' for some serious impressin' !

Right Royal Vintage

Lola has of late become increasingly slighty obsessed with The British Royal Family- namely in the form of objects!

Vintage at Goodwood

Phewf a busy old time for this old gal!!

Lola had a banger of a Vintage Festival meeting and greeting a huge range of well dressed vintage folk, and flogging a fair few of them some fabulous vintage gems from Lola's Vintage Wardrobe!

Here are a few snaps from the weekend, highlights included my little 40s style sister snapped with organizer, head honcho and general nice bloke- Wayne Hemmingway!

Sneaky Peak...

Boys and girls, to tickle those watering vintage taste buds, and to explain why by blogging has been few and far between of late-
I present to you a sneaky peaky of One of Lola's Vintage Models, the fabulous Cordelia Peel, backstage on set at the latest photo shoot for Lola's Vintage Online Boutique, which will be hitting your laptops and those well made up eyes before you know it!!

Due to launch full next week to coincide with Lola's Vintage Wardrobe setting up at Vintage at Goodwood!

My new Love

Lola's Little sister found these AMAZING 1950s Book ends recently at a car bootie- I LOVE THEM!!

I also love my new c/70s tea cups, saucers and cake plates also found on a treasure hunt, they are settled in at Lola HQ now, I will be serving tea to new found friends in them at The Vintage At Goodwood Festival in just a couple of weeks time, so check out their website and the event, and grab yourself some tickets here, and come visit me at the market place for some one off vintage clothing and a cuppa in the very quirky-est of china, me old china's!

Ladies and Gentle men!!

Another weekend of glorious British sunshine is upon us- and by 'ek is it lovely!!

With festivals, picnics and barbeque parties relentlessly upon us, now is the time to rock some shades that no one else will have, these ones finish off any vintage outfit or make wondering around a field looking for the tea tent at 10am seam much more bearable!

Keep fresh in the heat

It's hot hot hot in London this weekend- so check these boys out keeping cool at all temperatures- Will Smith, Freshest of Princes, teaming black and white check trousers with quite the Boom box- I love the mish mash of colours and prints in the 90s, both in clothing and graphics

Pucci

After a weekend of selling Multi coloured Tropical Cupcakes with Fifi I've been thinking about one of my favourite print designers-

Emilio Pucci, Italian Fashion Designer and Politician (you know, I always thought these 2 careers could be linked in so many ways!!) designed incredible signature Prints, that are a Kaleidescope of Geometric patterns and colours, from his Family home- The Pucci Palace in Florence during the 1940's through to the late 80s-

His label continues today,this collection featured from Autumn/Winter 2008 still holds on to the vintage aesthetic and has a strong 70s feel, while the first image shows a shot from his 1960s designs-

Have a look at some of these images- a flurry of bold colours and shapes to inspire summer wardrobes all over...

Vava VROOOOM!

I spotted this fabulously floral vintage motor in Notting Hill on my travels last week... the interior was incredible, fully lined with luxurious fabrics and trims in pastel vintage shades and indian decorative beading and brocade.

It reminded me of one of my little Gems from the Wardrobe found last week in the countryside in fact- an amazing late 80s/90s French Vintage Denim Jacket, this is such a treasure and bang on trend for this summer, floral denim in faded hues it is short cropped length and the sleeves roll up nicely for those long summer evenings.

Team up with a little dress or rock the Double Denim look with a difference with washed out cut off shorts, either way this jacket is a great cut and a rare find!!

It is a size Medium and so could be adapted to fit most sizes, and is flattering to all due to it's cropped length and 80s denim jacket shaping.

Vintage CLub Tropicana

The 80s hula inspired, club tropicana trend is one of my favorites this summer season- expect pineapple and parrot conversational prints, cut off denims, tied up tshirts and crop tops and of course cocktails!!

Lola Won a Prize!!

So today was a normal day... threw on my new techni coloured 80s American shirt, picked up my 50s style leather air hostess bag and skipped off to work... only to find out I won the Beyond Retro Prize Draw!

Yipeeeee!!

The vintage clad lovelies at Beyond Retro welcomed me with open arms, iced tea and cupcakes at their Marlborough Street store yesterday afternoon for some vintage shopping and lucky Lola won some treats! A gift voucher for the store and some fabulous personalized Beyond Retro Cupcakes, and a little bag of my favourites...home made french pastel colour macarons!- made by Stephanie Cakes.
