a new and an old hat/cat

I haven't blogged in a while, naughty Lola. But i have been working hard at London and the Paris Fashion Week...oooh la la!

Here is quick snap of one of my latest finds from a treasure hunt in the countryside..... an amazing circa.1960s fur hat,( that i currently have to keep hidden in a draw as i keep calling it over confusing it with mai the cat if left lying around the house...)

I've seen a few ladies clad in russian -esque vintage fur hats like this one around and about town, team it with heavy fabrics and tailored coats for an authentic vintage feel, or bring bang up to date with patterned body con dresses and brogues, or high waisted jeans and slouch sweatshirts,

Mad Hatters Tea Party

Last Sunday we donned our finest sunday best and headed to a secret (Shhhhh....) London Location to discover a room full of well dressed individuals listening to a wailing gramaphone, playing cards with new and old friends, supping tea from mis matched fine china and eating one hell of a lot of cake....!

The Shoreditch Sisters WI are the fabulous ladies responsible for this affair and I really do hope they do it again!

Here are a few snaps, Fifi and lola were asked to bake up some treats, we created a spread of House of Cards sparkle cupcakes and Bread and Butterfly psychedelia cupcakes... for cakes and parties drop us a line...

Paris

Tomorrow Paris Fashion Week opens!

So here's a little look back to the last time I was there with Fifi exploring the Vintage and "Frip" shops around the Centre Pompidou, ( Le region de Marais) One of the best is "Free'p'star" 61 rue de la Verrerie, 75004 Paris.

...Where we were rumaging through a giant 3euro trunk of treats and came away with an armful each, most shops in this area are open until around 9pm but do close for a long old french style lunch, so i'd suggest doing the same!

A camembert baguette and a glass of vintage vino puts you in a grand mood to get back to some serious vintage hunting!

I'd highly recommend a trip to this area, this week i'm seriously wishing we were going back!

Are you ready to jumble...??

Just a reminder to all you lovely boys and gals that this sunday, yes, This Sunday! Lola's Vintage will be once again flogging some vintage and handmade treasures with the fabulous Fifi, for our " Fifi and Lola's Fings Wot are Nice" at Let's Get Ready To Jumble at Bar Music Hall on curtain Rd. East London....

some original 80s/90s Apple Mac tshirts and sweaters, vintage costume jewellery, clothes and accessories, headscarves and trinkets, and an array of coloured fancies and curiousities beyond anyones wildest dreams....interested??
